Dermatologists are the happiest physicians, with 39 percent of those polled saying they are "very or very satisfied" with their jobs. This speciality is also known for having the most physically fit Doctors. Dermatologists reported the greatest levels of exercise and the lowest prevalence of obesity across all medical specialities.
2.Ophthalmology
In terms of satisfaction levels, ophthalmologists are similar to dermatologists, with 38% expressing heightened emotions of contentment at work. They, like Dermatologists, are among the fittest physicians, with many reporting among the greatest levels of activity and lowest levels of obesity in medicine.
3. Psychology
Psychiatrists seem to be able to help both themselves and their patients achieve happiness. Physicians in this profession have the third highest levels of job satisfaction. 37 percent of Psychiatrists polled indicated high levels of work satisfaction.
4. nephrology
Caring for renal patients is a rewarding endeavor, with 36% of nephrologists expressing heightened emotions of enjoyment about their profession. In addition, nephrologists had the greatest levels of reported satisfaction outside of the office. 68 percent of practicing nephrologists asked said they were "very or very pleased" at home, the highest rate of any specialty.
5. Respiratory
Pulmonologists round out the top five happiest specialists, with 33% citing job satisfaction. Despite these greater levels of enjoyment, this speciality has a less favorable health finding. Unlike the other top five specialty, pulmonologists have the largest rate of overweight physicians. Overweight or obese were reported by 51% of those polled, making them the most overweight medical specialty overall in medicine.
