Job Description

Empowering Education is seeking a Part-Time Telehealth School Counselor to support students enrolled in our eight-week financial literacy, career development, and mental health program.

This role focuses on helping students address mental health concerns while understanding how emotional well-being impacts academic success, career readiness, and economic stability. The counselor will work with students throughout the full eight-week course, meeting four times with each student to normalize conversations around mental health and build comfort seeking support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual telehealth counseling to students over an eight-week program

  • Meet with each student four times during the course

  • Support student mental health using a trauma-informed, student-centered approach

  • Help students understand the connection between mental health and economic stability

  • Maintain appropriate clinical documentation and confidentiality

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field

  • Active licensure in both Washington, DC and Maryland (required)

  • Experience working with adolescents and/or young adults

  • Comfortable delivering services via telehealth

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
