Make a self-evaluation of your professional goals.
Before making the decision to change occupations, you should assess your values and what is really important to you. While you may not be able to obtain your ideal job right away, you should have a good notion of what it is. [1] What would you do if money was not an issue?
What sort of work atmosphere would suit you best?
[2] Where do you want to live? Is it anything you'd want to do to relocate?
Determine your financial requirements.
Changing occupations may need a significant loss in wages or perks. That may not be a deal breaker, but you must decide your financial capabilities and needs.
Consider how much money you have in savings and if it is sufficient to pay your key expenses when you change careers.
Determine your monthly costs and the bare minimum of income required to meet them.
Determine how much money you spend on entertainment each month and how much of it is required. Do you want to quit your bowling league? Do you dine out more often than you should?
Make a list of everything you don't want.
When it comes to making a successful job transfer, determining what you aren't willing to endure might be just as crucial as determining what you want.
[3] Think about work situations you want to avoid, such as "loud venues" or "competition atmospheres."
Make a list of the sorts of jobs you're not interested in. You can be interested in marketing but don't want to work in sales. That is a critical difference.
