Five strategies for working 35 hours (or fewer!) each week

Option #1: Look for a job with less hours.

Some firms do offer shorter workweeks, however they are few and far between. For example, you may read about Monograph, a firm that offers a 32-hour workweek by default, on the excellent Key Values employment portal.

Option #2: Make a special bargain.

You may negotiate a shorter workweek in the same way that you can negotiate a greater compensation. The ideal location to accomplish it is in your present employment, because you presumably have valuable knowledge of business logic, organizational processes, the local tech stack, and so on. However, if you do it correctly, you may negotiate a reduced workweek at a new job.

Option #3: Work as a consultant (the right way)

If you're a good consultant, you can boost your fees to the point where you don't need to work full-time to make ends meet. However, doing it correctly is critical: if your hourly wage is low enough, you will have to work lengthy hours.

Option #4: Launch a product line (the right way)

When you sell a product that you made, the hours you labor do not correspond to your earnings. You have the initial time to create the product and the continuous time to market and manage the product, but at that point you can sell the same thing over and over again with a considerably lesser investment of time.

Option #5: Retire early.

Living below your means is a good idea in general: the more money you have in the bank, for example, the simpler it will be to obtain a better job. However, if you don't want to work at all, lowering your costs might help you quit working entirely in the long run.
