According to the results of an annual survey conducted by Glassdoor, the position of Java developer is the best one to apply for in the United Kingdom in 2022. The survey discovered that the programming job pays an average of £55,381 ($74,231) a year.
Website that lists jobs from across the world Glassdoor's research revealed that the position scored the greatest overall score possible when evaluating it against three criteria: work satisfaction, earnings potential, and the amount of job opportunities that the position currently has on its platform.
Java developers are responsible for the design and development of software programs that make use of the computer language Java.
When the data for the rankings was gathered in December, Glassdoor discovered that there were 1,567 job vacancies for Java developers. The rankings were based on this information. There were over three quarters of job postings that were for positions that could be done remotely.
The position of enterprise architect was ranked second on the list compiled by Glassdoor for its overall score, despite the fact that it provided the highest average income of all of the positions that were included in the rankings, which was £73,898. Enterprise architects are the individuals in charge of an organization's overall information technology (IT) infrastructure.
According to research conducted by Glassdoor, the position of product manager, which was ranked first the previous year, would fall to third place among the most desirable jobs in the United Kingdom in 2022. The job entails working on the creation of new goods for an organization and pays an average of £60,656 annually.
The position of corporate recruiter was ranked seventh in terms of how it scored across all three areas and had the greatest degree of work satisfaction of any other position.
The top 10 jobs on Glassdoor were dominated by positions in the technology sector. According to the Glassdoor economist Lauren Thomas, this may be a reflection of the fact that workers seek "more hybrid working and a better work-life balance – areas which technology and STEM [science, technology, engineering, and math] positions have traditionally excelled in."
"HR roles are also strongly represented on the list as the current tightness in the labor market has caused firms to reassess their investment in employee experience," she said. "HR professionals are in high demand due to the fact that the labor market is so competitive."
