What level is accounting technician?

You will be able to work as an Accounting Technician professional in either the public or corporate sector, or even in private practice, after completing the course. In addition to this, it gives you the chance to seek further professional accounting credentials via one of the many different professional accounting groups.


The Certification for Accounting Support Professionals

The Certificate of Achievement for Accounting Technicians (Year 1) may be completed either on a full-time or part-time basis, and it provides a development track into the Diploma of Achievement for Accounting Technicians.

Students will be eligible for the Certificate for Accounting Technicians award if they have successfully completed all four of the First Year topics mentioned below. The Certificate for Accounting Technicians is an award that is recognized at the Level 4 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. In the Republic of Ireland, this award is aligned with the Level 6 of the Irish National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).


Students learn the following in their first year:

Accounting for Financial Purposes

Taxation

Business Law

Business Management


The Certificate of Achievement for Accounting Technicians

The Diploma for Accounting Technicians is an award that is recognized at the Level 5 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. In the Republic of Ireland, this award is aligned with the Level 6 of the Irish National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ). It is given out once all of the courses in the First and Second Year have been completed successfully, together with two years of relevant work experience.


Both a part-time and full-time study schedule are acceptable for the modules of the second year. The following topics will be covered throughout the second year:

Accounting for the Advanced Financial Markets

Taxation on a Higher Level

Accounting for Management Purposes

Systems of Accounting That Are Integrated (IAS)


After successfully completing the second year of the program, students have the opportunity to become Affiliate Members of Accounting Technicians Ireland. This membership status enables students to keep their professional affiliation while they fulfill the requirement of gaining work experience for the diploma.


Further Studies

The curriculum of the program is designed to maximize the number of exemptions granted by prominent professional organizations, including our partner, Chartered Accountants Ireland, as well as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA), and the Institute of Incorporated Public Accountants (IIPA).
