Athletes who compete professionally and those who work in construction are two examples of people whose careers are among the most physically demanding in the world.

On the other hand, you may be shocked to learn about the variety of different vocations that keep you on your feet and demand an extraordinary level of physical fitness.


For this purpose, we accessed the Occupational Information Network (O*NET), a database maintained by the United States Department of Labor that has extensive information on various occupations.

We analyzed the scores provided by O*NET for five distinct categories of strength and physical activity requirements: dynamic strength, explosive strength, time spent walking or running, stamina, and trunk strength. To determine the relative value of each quality to the position, we graded them on a scale that ranged from one (low) to one hundred (high).
