If you are searching for a job that provides you with better salary, opportunities, or perks, then you should update your resume and apply for jobs as soon as possible.

After the slowdown during the holidays, there are a lot of open positions that recruiters are keen to fill at the beginning of the year, as stated by the economist for Glassdoor, Daniel Zhuo. And potential employees are keen to apply: In January, there was a 22 percent increase in the number of job applications that were initiated on the platform that Glassdoor provides.

According to Zhuo, "Our recommendation to job searchers is to be patient while still being proactive." "Job searchers can ride the tide of enthusiasm into the new year, but they should also be mindful that recruiters and hiring managers may be slower to reply in January as they return from the holidays and go through a higher-than-usual amount of applications,"

Glassdoor compiled a list of the finest jobs that will be available in 2020 using data from its platform to come up with a list that job hunters should keep a careful watch on. These positions are rated based on income, a job satisfaction score on a scale from one to five, and the amount of job vacancies that are currently available on the platform that Glassdoor provides.

The field of information technology accounts for seven of the top 10 careers, with front-end engineer taking the number one slot on the list.

This year, the position of data scientist, which had been ranked first for the previous four years, dropped all the way down to number three.

And in second place was the position of Java developer.

Each of these positions comes with an acceptable rating of 3.9 or above and offers a compensation of at least $80,000 to the successful candidate.
