Workers in this unit group are responsible for monitoring the activities that students engage in during their lunch breaks and recesses, as well as assisting students in safely traversing the roadways that are located close to the entrances of schools.
Typical duties include the following:
monitors the children who are playing on the playground while the adults are eating and taking breaks;
provides care for children who are ill and, if required, delivers first aid;
provides assistance to young children with tasks such as eating, clothing, washing, and toileting;
When he encounters youngsters who are attempting to cross the street, he instructs them to wait at the curb.
walks to the center of the road after waiting for a safe break in the flow of traffic;
hand signals and signs indicating a school crossing are used to notify to oncoming traffic that they should stop;
encourages youngsters to cross the street when it is safe to do so.
QUALIFICATIONS
There are no predetermined standards for intellectual achievement to enter. Candidates may be expected to demonstrate prior experience in the care and supervision of children by some businesses. Both off-the-job and on-the-job training are available. Clearance from the CRB is required.
