Overview
In the recycling program, the Recycling Assistant is a leader who must demonstrate a high degree of devotion in order for the program to be successful. This individual reports to the Recycling Supervisor. It is the responsibility of the recycling assistant to collect recyclable items from collection sites and then dump them at the right places.
Hours
Six to eight hours each week, on average.
Although the hours may change, they normally take place in the afternoons throughout the week.
Responsibilities
Always be on time and prepared to work when you have a shift planned.
Buildings on campus, in the administration, and in residential areas should have their recyclable items collected, transported, and disposed of.
Ensure that recycling collection facilities are kept clean, organized, and in working order.
Notify the manager of any requirements for maintenance or repairs to the equipment.
Conduct yourself in a responsible and prudent way when using college cars.
Participate in the regular staff meetings for Recycling.
Maintain an accurate record of the hours worked by punching in and out of the appropriate clocks at the appropriate times.
Timesheets should be turned in every two weeks.
Other responsibilities that may be given.
Qualifications
A student who is actively enrolled and in good standing is required.
Possess a valid driver's license
able to physically lift a weight of 40 pounds
A strong desire to contribute to the success of the team.
