Job Description for a Picker

We are seeking to fill the position of picker with an enthusiastic individual who can help us in getting orders ready for shipment. The picker is responsible for using requisitions and order sheets in order to choose a broad variety of things, placing and arranging those items in containers and bins according to specified specifications, and arranging the containers on pallets. The picker is responsible for examining the containers to see whether they are damaged and ensuring that the appropriate goods and amounts are chosen. You will carry out your responsibilities in line with the normal operating instructions, and you will be responsible for ensuring that both incoming and outgoing shipments are accurate and free of defects. You are going to be responsible for operating a forklift, maintaining equipment, doing basic maintenance, performing physical inventories, and reporting quality discrepancies.

You will need to execute your responsibilities with a high degree of precision if you want to be successful in this role. The best applicants will have high moral standards, be well organized, and be able to work well under pressure.


Picker Responsibilities:

Making certain that work environments are maintained tidy, clean, and well-organized at all times.

Putting away newly arrived product, conducting inventory, and notifying management of any shortfalls.

preserving a record of all shipments, both entering and exiting.

Performing order picking tasks as directed by management.

Performing tasks such as sealing and labelling containers, verifying that orders have been filled accurately, and signing pick tickets to confirm.

Making sure the relevant shipping information is linked to the order and transferring finished orders to the place where they will be sent.

Putting containers on pallets and fastening them using strapping, stretch wrap, and shrink wrap.

Totes, jacks, and forklifts are used in the process of loading and unloading trucks.

Maintaining compliance with OSHA and any other applicable safety standards.

Providing assistance in the upkeep of the warehouse's security.


Picker Requirements:

Diploma from an accredited high school or its equivalent, such as the GED.

1+ years of experience working in a capacity that is comparable.

Excellent verbal communication abilities.

Capability to collaborate successfully with a wide variety of individuals.

Able to use the many tools that are necessary for this role.

Physically nimble and deft in their movements.

Capable abilities in the area of organizing.
