You will require:
a university degree in a field such as teaching, child care, or social work
inspection of schools requires qualified teacher status (QTS).

What you'll do

Day-to-day duties
You will work for Ofsted directly as an HMI, which stands for Her Majesty's Inspector, also known as a regulatory inspector. You can have the opportunity to serve as an Ofsted inspector (OI) under contract with the organization. The regulatory tasks and overall responsibilities of an HMI are not carried out by OIs.
You will take on the tasks of lead inspector as well as team inspector when you become an HMI. You'll have responsibilities in at least one of the following areas:
schools
training and educational advancements
services for children and their families
early childhood education and child care
In addition to this, Ofsted has regulatory inspectors working across the early years and children's social care systems. They ensure that the staff, facilities, and support systems are adequate to meet the needs of children and young people in vulnerable situations.
In all jobs, you'll:
