Working with horses to get them ready for riders, competitions, or displays is the job of a horse trainer or teacher. In most cases, it is required of them to evaluate the temperaments of horses in order to forecast any potential behavioral issues that may arise, such as kicking, tossing, or biting. After that, they adjust their training properly to avoid future behavioral issues. Trainers and instructors also aid horses in becoming used to their equipment, becoming comfortable with riding on a variety of terrains, and executing a variety of activities.


WHAT OBLIGATIONS AM I GOING TO BE CHARGED WITH?


Help horses get used to being ridden while wearing saddles and bridles.

Train horses to accept directions and reward their good behavior.

Conduct temperament tests on horses to identify any potential behavioral issues.

Exercise to ward against any future behavioral issues.

Train the horses to carry out a variety of maneuvers.

Maintain a solid knowledge of several equestrian disciplines, and train horses in accordance with those disciplines.

Prepare horses for riding on a variety of terrains and for boarding in trailers by giving them exposure to both.

Keep an eye on the horses' diets and overall health, and get in touch with a doctor if there are any concerns.

Assist with grooming and provide advice about grooming

Ensure that the stables and garbage management are in order.

Horses need to be fed and hydrated.


COURSE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL:

The following subjects are suggested for students to take during their senior year of high school: agricultural education, biology, animal science, and mathematics.


EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

In order to become a horse trainer, you would normally need to have an associate's degree in equine science or equestrian studies. You might further your knowledge in training horses by enrolling in extra classes, participating in workshops, or serving as an apprentice.
