What's it like?


You are skilled in the installation and maintenance of gas heating and hot water systems in a risk-free manner.

You would be responsible for the upkeep and repair of the pipes, appliances, and meters.

You would provide your services to clients in their homes as well as public establishments like restaurants and hotels.

You will need to thoroughly inspect the systems to determine whether or not they are functioning properly and to identify any issues that may exist. You would proceed according to the technical plans and illustrations.


In such case:

Set up the necessary devices and systems.

Check all of the systems and equipment in accordance with the maintenance schedule.

Conduct inspections of the various controls and safety devices to ensure that they are in good working order.

Utilizing computerized leak-finding technology, locate and fix any gas leaks that may be present.

Replace or replace any worn out or broken components.

When required, place an order for new components.

Maintain a record of the job that you have completed.

Provide your consumers with information about gas safety and energy efficiency.

Because you will be interacting directly with consumers in their own homes, the expectation is that you would behave in a kind and cordial manner.

You would also provide them with quotations for work and inform them of the anticipated length of time required for completion. You can also be responsible for handling customer complaints and selling extra services offered by the organization.

Because this is a responsible position, it is essential that you be familiar with safe working procedures, rules specific to the industry, and environmental requirements.


Conditions of employment


Hours

Your typical work week would begin at 8 am and end at 5 pm, Monday through Friday. If your business provides emergency support around the clock, you could be required to participate in a shift rota system.


Environment

The majority of your work would be performed at the homes or places of business of your clients. The task may be strenuous on the body and may require the employee to perform duties in confined areas or at elevated heights.


Travel

You would be required to go to each location. In most cases, you will be required to possess a valid driver's license in order to carry your equipment.
