Find any pre-written information that you already have and rework it where it applies.

Capability to mentor sales and subject matter expert (SME) teams in the art of creating best practices.

Provide the knowledgebase manager with all of the newly created material of the proposal, and tag it for possible future usage.

A familiarity with the tools used to automate proposal processes.

Communicate at a high level and exert your influence there.

Excellent time management / prioritisation abilities.

Skills in proofreading that are both rigorous and forensically attentive to detail.


Reporting Structure

The Proposal Writer will be a member of a bigger team in a major corporate or multinational organization, and that larger team will have well delineated roles and responsibilities. In most cases, the post will report to a Head of Bid / Proposal Management or a business unit manager such as a Commercial / Marketing Manager. Alternatively, the role may report directly to the CEO. Usually, the tasks of a standalone Bid / Proposal Manager and those of a Proposal Writer in a small to medium-sized business are integrated into a single role. This position will report to either the Sales & Marketing Director or the Managing Director.


Evaluation of the Results

Typical indicators of success include error-free, grammatically accurate, and on-time proposal material, high score proposal replies in comparison to customer RFP requirements, and accomplishment of internal service level agreements (SLAs).


Qualifications

It is preferable for applicants to have a solid academic background (to the degree level) in English Language or something comparable. The Qualification for Creative Writing. Foundation of the APMP (Practitioner or Professional level desirable).
