Antique dealer jobs

Antique dealer

What's it like?

You would search for and purchase lovely antique furniture and other items, which you would then resell to someone who would put them to good use and appreciate them.

You were responsible for locating potentially valuable objects at sales, auctions, on the internet, and in people's homes, determining their worth, and negotiating a price for them.

You could learn more about the item or fix some of the item's minor flaws. You would market it to collectors as well as members of the general public, with the goal of persuading someone to purchase it from you at a higher price so that you could make a profit.

You might deal with a broad variety of historical artifacts, or you could specialize on a specific subject that piques your interest, such as the following:

Jewellery

Glass

China

Furniture

Objects used in industry

Paintings

Toys

The written and recorded word

Items such as coins, stamps, and vintage postcards
