Agronomists are scientists who specialize in the production of crops, the management of soil, and the regulation of soil quality. They look for different methods that will allow them to get the most agricultural yield out of a certain amount of land. They also conduct tests to identify the optimal levels of plant nutrients and soil health, and then work to achieve those levels.

As an agronomic, one of your primary responsibilities will be to undertake in-depth analyses of crop data in conjunction with farmers and academics that specialize in cropping systems. You will be held accountable for maintaining an in-depth grasp of the concepts underlying soil productivity and staying abreast of the most recent developments and technology in agronomy. Job Responsibilities and Obligations of an Agronomist
evaluates the amount of crops that were grown on the farm
Assesses and enhances the quality of the seed
Performs analyses in the laboratory on samples of soil, seed, and crops.
Controls the quality of the seed and the soil according to established criteria.
Ensures the maintenance of documents pertaining to research, testing, and outcomes
Organizes the analysis and the display of the data
Agronomist Job Requirements
Experience in the field of agronomy, minimum of two years
A comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of soil and crop production
Excelling in the use of Microsoft Office
Excellent capabilities in both research and analysis.
Skills in both verbal and writing communication that are effective
